What this site is
SelfBuildGuide.ie is an independent information site for people self-building a home in Ireland. It is run by Rudy. We are not an insurer, an insurance broker, a mortgage lender, a solicitor, an architect or an engineer.
Information, not advice
Our guides are general information. They are not financial, legal, insurance, planning or technical advice, and they don't take account of your circumstances. Rules, grant amounts and thresholds change, so each guide shows when we last reviewed it and lists its sources. Check the current position with the source, and take professional advice before you commit.
We aim to be accurate. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss from relying on the site. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.
How we are paid
If you ask for a quote, we pass your request to a lead broker (a company that connects people with insurance providers), who passes it to one insurance broker that covers self-builds. We are paid for the introduction. It costs you nothing, and it never affects what our guides say. That broker, not us, gives you any quote and is responsible for it. Your details are handled as described in our privacy policy.
Using the content
You may link to any page. Please don't copy our guides wholesale or republish them without asking. Links to other sites are there to help; we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer under the law of where you live.
